The Andhra Pradesh assembly on Saturday (2 November 2017 ) unanimously passed a legislation to provide 5% reservation to Kapu community in government jobs and educational institutions. The Chandrababu Naidu led government has included the community in the backward classes by creating a new category ‘F’.
As the legislation will take the overall quantum of reservation in the state to over 50%, the cap fixed by Supreme Court the legislature must be rejected by High Court.
Mr. Lokesh Shitanshu Shrivastava the Founder and National President of Public Political Party (PPP) said that ‘Leaders are now misguiding the public in the name of reservation, they know very well that Supreme Court ceiling of maximum 50% reservation could not be broken, why this types of bills are being passed by BJP in Rajsthan for Gurjer and by TDP in Andhra Pradesh? Even Congress is promising for Patidar in Gujrat. Public is understanding the each and everything ’.
